Iron Galaxy is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have robust industry relationships, a deep understanding of video game processes and product development, a proven track record of closing deals, and strong business acumen. 

Business Development Managers at Iron Galaxy foster authentic connections with our partners and drive the success of our growing full-service game development studios. To excel in this role you’ll need a solid understanding of the work-for-hire model including port projects, remakes/remasters, support work, co-development, licensing deals, and outsourcing. Having established relationships with decision-makers across game development is critical for this role. 

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue business opportunities with developers, game studios, publishers, platforms, financers, and other key stakeholders
  • Manage existing accounts through regular meetings, reporting, and communication
  • Develop and execute business strategies to expand our presence and revenue streams
  • Relay plans and changes that could affect our business, standing, and relationships to company leadership
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers industry-wide to drive collaboration and partnership opportunities
  • Create, propose, negotiate, and finalize partnership agreements, development deals, and other business arrangements to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including product development, finance, ideation, and legal to ensure the successful execution of development initiatives
  • Monitor and communicate industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats in the video games space
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and promote Iron Galaxy within the gaming community
  • Provide regular reports on business development activities, partnerships, revenue performance, and target opportunities to Iron Galaxy senior leadership

Desired Skills 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred
  • 5 years of experience creating and managing business development and strategic partnerships within the video games industry
  • Meaningful experience in the PC, Console, and Mobile gaming spaces 
  • Knowledge and interest in adjacent games markets including VR, AR, Unreal for Films, Location-based Entertainment (LBE), and other emerging technologies
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating and closing partnerships or licensing deals in the video game sector
  • Deep understanding of the video games market, including key players, trends, and business models
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers at all levels
  • Highly organized individual who can manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
